Rain, Rain, Go away!

Don't come back another day! Also known as, oh my it's WET here. Every time I tried to leave my mums today it started raining *again* in the end I asked dad nicely if he'd bring us home. we still got saturated on the short journey from the car to the front door.

We walked to see our Housing Officer yesterday as we couldn't get through on the phone. When we LEFT it wasn't raining. By the time we got to the end of the road we really should have given up as a bad job. We carried on to town. On the way BACK, we ended up being taken in by a very kind lady who saw us splashing home through a torrential thunder storm. We totally flooded the poor womans' house it was taht wet. I need to think of a nice thank you for her. She gave the girls a snack (it was lunchtime when we went into hers, and yes i'm fully aware of stranger danger LOL) and a drink and let us shelter till Clive came and got us.

HOUSING....

Did I tell about the girls bedroom door coming off the hinge? I must get a picutre. The door ahs split at the top. THe repair "should be completed by 07/09/2007" really? that soon? that'd be nice. till then i'll just hold my breath every time the girls play in their bedroom. I can't even take the door off and store it somewhere. Clive and I are *STILL* living out of boxes.

We are a "standard band C" according to housing. In other words, we may as well assume we're going to be here pretty much forever. Unless something medical means we need a different home. SO, it's a 5.30am start for the girls of the house so we can be out and on the bus by 7am and the latest to get over to the parents to see to tehir needs- at least i get paid for it i guess. but i couldn't let some stranger put the damned pressure bandages on mums legs for her. they're a PITA.

Oh My Gosh!

Sian and Elisabeth have more clothes than I know what to do with! I just tried to get some sort of order on their rails. And there are more to hang! Methinks that a good sort through would be a plan. I'm pretty sure folks will get them clothes for birthday/christmas too- This year, take them off my hands for a day instead!!

I found someone willing to teach Sian British Sign Language for 30min/week :o) Most 3yos have stopped using the baby signs, but not mine. She enjoys signing and I would love her to have that for an extra language. We have another couple of weeks of Tiny Talk to go as well and then that'll be it. All done. Beth will be 2 before the next course starts I think. If not we may sign up again, they both love it.

Last year for christmas we took the girls to see CBeebies Live! They enjoyed it so much we're doing it again this year! Courtesy of GrannyJan and Grandad. I can't wait to see how much MORE beth enjoys the show this time. They both wanted to go back and watch again. We're going to try and save up some extra money this time! But for our family prestents? Well, we're just getinng one between us..... a Nintendo Wii!

SEEBOARD Turtle!

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

hope this works! this is sian doing an impression of a cartoon turtle! we got the girls pics done last week.. no week before. and this is just one of the results. they came out well (as usual LOL)

I need to find the details again, but we're entering beth into a competition to be a magazine cover model (for a childrens store) we'd enter sian but she's too old!

i know i'm slacking. i still haven't got the vacation pics up LOL

My asthma nurse left the drs surgery tuesday...and the GP who has been there since the day dot is leaving in august. Hope they keep the other nurse and GP on though!

Will we ever get rehoused?? sian thought she'd broken the bedrrom door. it came of the hinge because it was not put up properly... and has split at the top. can't see how a 28lb 95cm shrimp could do that- even if she was swinging it!

Poor Sian's had a

BAAAAAAD day. First, she tripped over her own feet and smacked her head on a metal fence (ouchee!) Then, she fought with her sister over a flannel resulting in her being bit on the bum (mind you, i did warn her to let beth *have* the flannel or it would happen) and finally, she knocked over a table right on top of her cracking the glass that was on it (at least it didn't break, huh) And then she was late to bed resulting in a bad tempered little madam! But they did get fed at mcdonalds as we were out at tea time.

I'm sure Transport for London (TfL) say only one pushchair on a bus at a time for a reason. I must be the ONLY person who folds up the damned thing if my childs not sitting in it. Today, as beth was eating i didn't. but the two otehr people who got on the bus with pushchairs could have. one got on carrying his child and with an unfolded stroller, the other was a rude lady who argued with me as someone had been rude to me in the first place and then took her child OUT of the pushchair and left it blocking the space. its hard to move out of a space where a pushchair is blocking you in. and i was brought up to say "excuse me" not "oi woman" as it happened i was trying to give her more room to put the darned thing and then couldn't get out cause she was blocking me in.

i'm so bad at the photo thing, huh? i still have our EASTER holiday pics in my email inbox. never mind any we took in june. mind you, most the good ones are on clives camera. we need to get a bluetooth adaptor (and hope the pc will play) to get them downloaded. AND we jsut got the last of the girls watch me grow pics done. we're going to order them tuesday, as i'll have the CD the copy right will be mine, all mine so i can share quite happily

and now, i'm going to bed before i get qwerty face! night all

It didn't want to be with me any more......!

My mobile phone that is! I put it down on top of a quilt and a towel and 30seconds later (yup, that long) it slid right off them and into a pint of lemonade, not touching the sides as it went. As it wasn't on the edge of the pile and didn't even hit the rim of the glass, i can only assume it felt over worked and under paid and wanted an easy out!! Pity i've lost some really cute pics now though- unless they're saved to my SIM... and we were just talking about a blue tooth adaptor to get the pics from the phones to the computer.

Sian appears to have lost all her "T's" from her speech over night *sigh* it's really frustrating me as I don't drop them that much. I know where she's got it from though so I fear I may have to limit how often her freind comes over until she starts speaking properly again.

Hehehe. There is *exactly* a 5lbs weight difference between the girls, it's always been about that but I think Beth may catch Sian up now LOL this time last year Sian was 24lbs 3oz and this year Beth is 23lbs 7oz! I think we may be turning Beth forward facing at 2 rather than 2.5/3 like Sian was.

We go away for two weeks saturday!! I can't wait to get down to Wales and into cleaner, fresher air. We're trying to think up some trips to take while we're there as well. Probably one to a fun fair (www.barrywales.co.uk/theisland.htm), one to Techniquest (http://www.techniquest.org.uk) and we're not sure where else apart from DVLA to hopefully get my licence... we'll see.

Some idiot took £216 instead of £150 out of our bank account (how on EARTH can you do that???) and we're waiting for it to be replaced by check today... hmm that ones done. i think we may go and ask for the cash tomorow now.

can't think of anything else for this post. I do need to do a homeschool one though and i can't remember the address or password!!!

Given the choice

between shopping in Bravissimo and at Top Drawer. I'll take Top Drawer *every* time. I was after a sport bra today so thought i'd try bravissimo- after all they're meant to cater to the alrger chested lady.

the service was so....... impersonal. and . i dunno. i jsut didn't like it at all. there was no OFFER of any help. and when i couldnt find my way roudn the store ther was no guidance. No, I didn't get a sports bra either lol. i did get another nursing one though. i'm just a boob to those girls!

after bravissimo, it was hammersmith for us. clive got some new tee shirts. i am SO going through our clothes next week and THROWING some out!! and the girls got new towels (one minnie and one mickey) and i got a pillow with classic mickey on it. so soft and cuddly.

OMG my little shrimpy baby got big!

All of a sudden the potty training issue clicked. We've had a few accidents but nowhere near as many as i thought we would. Sian's been in big girl knickers since sunday afternoon! I thought she'd NEVER train! Typicaly i just spent out money on training pants *sigh*

Rain brellas and bless you paper have been changed into their usual umbrella and tissue :o( i'll miss those sian-isms. they were so logical

this morning she woke me up by shouting at me she was dressed *sob* my big girl had got herself totally changed from her cloth nappy and PJs into te outfit we chose last night.

She's most defitnley a bigger big a big girl now.

Did I mention that....

I got all modern and bought me an MP3 player? in pink no less LOL. I'm hoping to be able to rescue my music from the pc onto it (and add more of course!)mind you, i'm not so sure when i'll get to listen to it as i've always got the kids with me.... when i'm online after they're in

Bed. tonight they didn't want to go to bed OR to sleep. i am now a VERY cranky mama. Beth finally fell asleep at around 8.30-9. Sian on the other hand didn't even get her butt back INTO bed till gone 11pm. Even more annoying was they'd both already fallen asleep in the car and were just being little brats. oh, and i'm jsut a pair of

Boobs. This week is world breast feeding week. If you haven't, sign the breast feeding manifesto @ http://www.breastfeedingmanifesto.org.uk I passionatley beleive that a nursing mama should be able to nurse her baby ANYWHERE. after all, you don't complain at a baby being bottle fed in public, do you?

I've decided to give up teaching trampolining. Actually, I'm considering giving it up altogether, but I'm not sure. At least it doesn't *cost* me anything! But back to the giving up teaching. I want to spend more time with my family. Saturday is the only day we can feasibly do anything as a family and trampolining rather cuts into that as it's 1-4 and the whold day is a rush. We're going to take the kids to swimming lessons in septemer instead we hope. I fimly beleive that swimming si a skill everyone should learn. even if it's only enough to get them out of trouble.

I desperatley ned to learn to drive. I have commitements all over the place now and one of them is helping my mother for 11.5hrs a week.... if i could drive to theirs and then back to surestart it would make life all round so much easier. guess i'm on the look out for cheap driving lessons then huh. the cheapest i've found is £28/hr. then i'll need childcare while i do the lesson...that's most likely going to set me back *anotehr* £24...darnit it's an expensive

Need. Just like the trainer pants i've invested in. I shelled out £25 yesterday on 2 pairs and £30 today on another 3. One of these kids better potty train! preferably the big one who's stretching my fuzzinbunz!!

I emailed me the pictures of our holidays now. I'll get them downloaded and shared as soon as possible. there are some really nice ones tehre, and some not so good ones too. I'm also looking into a bluetooth adaptor so i can blue tooth the pics from my phone onto here. i don't want to lose them if i get a new phone!

Sunday, May 13, 2007

I guess I had to do it sometime....

the potty training entry that is!

Sian is so uninterested in anything in the way of potty training. She wants to wear "big girl knickers" but then proceeds to wee through them (one day she went through 8pairs in 90mins... with the potty in the garden with her) She doesn't like "despicable" nappies... and they cost a fortune, but our Fuzzi Bunz are just so cute (and she loves the different colours and prints!)

Beth on the other hand actually will *ask* to "wee wee" while pulling at her nether regions. It's actually safer to leave her nekkid than her sister. Today she used the potty 4 times. I'm so proud of my baby :o)

Last Weds in creche, Sian took herself off to the "too-let" without anyone knowing- well, till they saw the wet nappy! She managed to use teh loo twice that morning but then proceeded to stand *righ in front* of the potty chair she prmised me she'd use when i shelled out £15 for it and wee on the floor. At least Beth uses that though... oh, in fact, she's the one that christened it. All alone in a pull up, I went downstairs after taking something up to fine a lone nappy on the floor. Asked Sian who had the bare bum to be told it was beth (yup) and *then* discovered she'd christend the potty all on her own doing! Heehee, I was actually proud of my baby and her poo-ing ability!

Ok, lets get off the toilet talk! And onto the DH (ok, so it's not "dear" today) Working backwards then....

If you're giving the kids a *bedtime* bath, you don't shout and scream and threaten them. Nor do you apologise for above behaviour thus

"sorry i shouted at you, but you've got to start listening to me... ARE YOU LISTENING TO ME? STOP THAT!"

If I've *asked* them to be quiet, you don't then go and shout at them to be quiet, don't you think that rather defeats the purpose, oh and makes me madder and then want to shout at YOU, arsehole.

Don't SULK if i ask you to hlep. Or if I point out that you don't even OFFER to help. I just love being the one standing in the rain packing the car while you proceed to just get in it after getting Sian in.

"I was just goinig to do that" usally 30+mins ago isn't *just* going to do it. It's i'll do it when i'm ready. which is why i jsut washed up YOUR pan, you said YOU'd wash up on WEDNESDAY

and how come i get to deal with teh kids almost 24/7 while you moan about having them for a few hours once a week, while they're mainly asleep. how would you cope if i just upped and left you.

ok. rant over, but he'd better start pulling his weight (i'm going back to schoold day chores charts for him, he doesn't even hoover 1xweek) and grow up or i will be taking further action.... wonder how he'd feel if i went on strike..........

Aloha!

Wow. It's been a long time. And my computer gets worse and worse. Mind you, the problems have been happening since we got Virgin Media instead of Telewest... Hmmm. Now it likes to freeze up at random intervals and just switch off for no reason. Very annoying when you are mid chat with someone. And forget having AIM, Yahoo! and MSN running together. The other thing it lieks to do is lag behind what you're typing. So i can happily type a full sentence to go back and retype it due to my bad spelling *sigh* Clive says we'll try for a new PC in the summer. (apart from the "new" problems it has no CD rom drive, no sound, doesn't switch on and off properly and only has 2/6 USB ports working) Must be time to try and store my pics eleswhere or lose them.

So.. Next. As a female there are 2 areas that i don't skimp the cash on. The feet and .. yup, the boobage. My feet are happy at the moment with some crocs and some reebok pumps. Yesterday the girls got treated to a new nursing bra. What a difference there was going into a specialist lingerie shop and just going to mothercare! I am the proud owner of a 36H... as opposed to the 44DD i had on previously. What a difference! I feel supported... my boobage is in shock. Even better? I can get some cute bras from Bravissimo! now :o) well, if i ever get some spare cash. I do have one on order from the shop in Sunningdale as well (so that'll be 2 bras that aren't humungous plain white or black LOL)

While i was in the shop, Clive took the kids to the park. BETH went up a twirly slid and came down it on her belly- alone!it wasn't a toddler sized slide either. My baby has a daredevil streak in her. The girls also played in the sandpit and climbed and swung. Gettig n them OUT of the park was hard. I've hjd to promise they can go back witha picnic! Not that I midn, it's a nice park to jsut sit and wtach them in.

I have got some gorgeous "kodak moments" stored in my brain from the past few days.

Sian "reading" to Beth: Eric Carle The Very Hungry Caterpillar
"first he ated 4 marshmallows.. then he ated 5 strawberries"
Later that night i foud them asleep together in beth's ot. beth cuddling her bear and sian at the head of the cot cuddling the book!

there are more but it's taken almost 4hrs to type this . i'm pissed off now. please post!

beer.. or is it?

we went on the hunt for some vegetable crisps for a freind today. only to find she'd already got them that morning. While meandering around clive bought a beer that was made with malt as well as barley

anyone would think my kids are alkofrolics! sian stood by him *waiting* to "taste your beard daddy" and as soon as clive got back with it in a glass and asked who wanted to try some beth jumped off my lap faster than you've ever seen her unlatch!

after both the girls had tried it we asked them which they preffered... beer or boob. they both said boob, but sian was teh one to take me up on it lol. beth just ketp teasing daddy about his beer.

so, a beer with the smoothness of a single malt whiskey got the thumbs up in our house today, although not from me- i don't like either beer OR whiskey!!

Rugby, a hooligans game played by gentlemen

OGGY OGGY OGGY!
OI OI OI!
OGGY!
OY!
OGGY!
OY!
OGGY OGGY OGGY!
OY OY OY!!!

unless, of course, you're sian. she has a funny way of adding things to the end of words. that (llanelli) scarlets chant for her becomes

OGGY OGGY OGGY!
OYT OYT OYT!

Mondays Musings

Little girls who don't fall asleep (and then not in bed) till 10.30pm are HORRIBLE LITTLE SNOTS the next day. Luckily a freind of mine had a starter bed that she isn't using. We'll pay her for it on payday. Theres no way that i'm fitting a cot bed and a single in the kids room. We're gonna need somwhere bigger methinks when they're both out of starter beds...... I'd rather NOT put them in bunks.

Sian on the subject of breaking her necklace (last night while she was *supposed* to be in bed and asleep)

Sian: I broked my necklace this morning granny
Granny: why did you do that?
Sian: because it was very breakable

Sian and Beth's idea of suitable warm weather foot wear.... as it's been unseasonably hot here this week. This morning they went out to play in the garden in .... Long sleeved Tshirts, Nappies and wellington boots!

home sweet home

ok, i know we've been back since friday. but holidays create a lot of laundry! and i'm still not done iwth it yet *sigh* i'll have to get ou tin the garden and hang teh current load when i've done this- girlies are both asleep still!

we had a lovely (if expensive!) break in wales. sian didn'twant to come home, in fact she cried as we left the camp lol. we all missed wendy though (one of last years teamstars) but it was nice to see gemma from the year before. she's working as bar staff this season.

this week we had an easter egg hunt (not a hard one!) round the chalet, a trip to the beach - that was windy! we didn't quite make it to the sea as the tide was out, a quick visit to the chocolate farm followed by bowling/soft play, a visit to dais dragons den, and a trip to folly farm where we went round the zoo (well ad ifferent part of it) and saw a show in the theatre. one of the goats tried to nibble sian's sandal and she got scared lol

its good to be back in my own bed. i woke up with neck/back ache EVERY day while we were there. and the bedroom had a dreadful condensation problem :o/ still can't wait for june to arrive!

ok, chores call while the kidlets are still snoozing sweetly.

Siân and Beth decided Bear (of Big Blue House fame) wanted to share their fruit shoots. So he did! I think he liked the apple flavour... well there were no complaints!

Beth in Siân's new Fisher Price Seat

Siân in her new Fisher Price Car seat. The seat is pretty much the same as the Britax Trio, Just with the Fisher Price name on it- it's been made by Britax (they also make the Jaguar car seats here in the UK)

Siân with her new dolly that "i can help walk in the garden" This doll is better endowed than a Barbie!! When Siân took her top off and saw the boobage she said "i'm going to have dolly milk now" and promptly did. Clive and I cracked up laughing!

Off Tomorrow YAY!!

The car is pretty much packed to bursting. The girls are asleep (finally in the case of the big one) I just need to put in the last few bits for the journey that I haven't tonight when we get up and we are on holiday!!

But of course that unwelcome witch had to come a visiting me. I guess better now at the begining than in the middle though.

we have an answer!!!

there was a design fault with sian's cot bed and about a year after we bought ours they changed the manufacturer.

i got a refund (£249.99) and we have to take the cot back tomorow. sian gets to sleep on her mattress on the floor till she gets a new bed now!

i have mostly packed for our trip away... swimming bags (x2), bathroom bag (- drugs & toothbrushes, they go in last), our clothes (almost done) jsut the kids bag to go really. clive can drag teh travel cot down from the kids room tomorow and i'll sort ou the boot ready for an early start on thursday! can't wait.

i'll try and rember pics when i get back to update y'all!

funniness from the girlies

Sian on the subject of tinned tomatoes....

"i don't like bematoes. they're too juicy"

And on trying to find a new dolly

"i want one iwth brown skin. no not that one, thank you"

(she got a 32" brown dolly that she can help walk up the garden path and a little 11" dolly in a rucksack)

Beth on shutting her sister out of the house...

C: Did you shut Sian out?
B: yeh
C: is that funny?
B: (hand covers mouth) hehehe

and on the subject of mama milk...

G: do you want something?
B: taps chest and says "molk"

Friday night fun

Well, it started out as a very *quiet* adult session. Just two out of our 10 or so regulars turned up at 7..... The mats were at tip AGAIN (I just LOOOOOVE having to climb up on to dusty bleachers and move 8+ crash mats, 20 floor mats, a sag bag and random peices of rubbish) So, The cupboard better be as tidy when we get back after Easter as I left it last night!

We had a group of Explorer Scouts for the night last night- well from 8-10pm. Trouble was, none of us could remember what time they were coming! I realised about 7.50 (after we'd got out ALL the trampolines *wheeze, puff, pant*) that they didn't come till 8 last time either as thats the time of their meeting! It's the second time they've come to have a jump, and not the last. Some of the scouts have potential as bouncers... others are just springs coiled up ready to leap! One of the boys even got brave after he had an accident last time and got on again- after watching for an hour, he'd only come to support the rest of the group! Hmmm.... I wonder if he made it to the airport this morning.

They'll be back in June for another bounce. Wonder if i'll laugh as much tehn as I have the last two times! It's alwasy good for the system to have a giggle :o)

Saturday....

...and i spent £31.50!!!! on clothes for the girls. Actually, Sian got 2 new skirts out of it. Beth got 3 tops, 2 pairs of trousers and an outfit. She is not allowed to need new clothes till she fits the ones I have in 18-24mos left over from Sian!!

We had a friend round to play in the garden this afternoon and then got Pizza for tea. The 3 girls always seem to eat when they are together. Maybe we should do it more often. I think we might go for a bowling trip next time, that could be interesting! Theres another week of holiday for the shcool their freind is at after we get back from wales so i think a couple more play dates will be in order.

Sunny Fun in the Garden...

Learning to bowl and set the pins is hard work! Sian carried one over to me at the car... "oh my god" she said in one of those squeezed out voices "it's heavy"
Beth on the other hand likes to be a lion. She goes behind the tree and ROARS! So cute, so funny, so can't wait for summer to get here PERMANTLY!!!

Boo Hoo Hoo!!

my little baby got all growed up :o( she talked to me on the phone today. not just gurgles, we had a conversation (ok, so bethy can't say many words yet, but she has yes and no down pat!)

it's time to get her new clothes... i jstu made the pleasing discovery that she's too long for ALL her 9-12mos stuff! and a pillow. she defintly sleeps better with it. Guess where half our holiday spending money si going?! ah well, she's worth it, totally!

I went to see the gp and....

i got 3 weeks grace LOL. I go to see Janet in 3wks time to sort out a personal action plan.. we tried to do it today but didn't get too far. I'm not going to change any of the asthma meds at the moment (just finish teh pred. tomrow, but I got it to have indoors which is a big help as i've been able to start it myself) I do have my hayfever meds sorted out though so now i'm gonna feel like i'm rattling!!

We're all going on an Easter Holiday!!

Well, i'm going to give dad a break from caring for mum, but i don't get a break from caring for him LOL. we WILL have fun though and i will get my hair cut two visits we're defintley doing are the chocolate farm and folly farm. the rest we're going to wait and see. must rember to take the potty. both girls will possibly use it..........

Wednesday, March 28, 2007

that was quick!

We ordered Sian a car seat from http://www.kiddicare.com for my parents car yesterday. Interlink tried to deliver it today while we were out! And we're not in now till Monday. Shoot. I'm super impressed though, normal delivery is usually 4 working days, not next day!!

To the idiots who just stood and watched

If you see an UNACCOMPANIED 18 month old walk out of the building... do NOT just watch her walk towards the road. If it was your child, you'd want someone to stop them, yes? Well, next time I'll just leave it. The wall between me and said child meant I couldn't see her. And as I was dealing with her screaming sister at the time........

Apparently I'm a cow!!

G: Am I a cow?
B: Yeh
G: Do I give milk on demand?
B: Yeh
G: Are you a piggy?
B: pig

And the everlasting asthma....

So, I finish the pred in the morning. I have to go see my GP in the afternoon. Right now I'm on ...
Symbicort 200/6 2x day
Qvar 100 2x day
Singulair 1x day

Ventolin 2 puffs as needed (today was super, i only needed it twice!)

Just finishing Prednisone @ 30mg/day for 6days (all i had left of my supply, must get more)

I need to think what to ask her...

Do I need to extend the pred. for a bit longer (it seems to take longer to take an effect now) or increase the dose from 30mg to 40mg... or both.

What is a good peak flow for me now? I know my predicted is around 447... since Dec 06 I've been lukcy to hit 350. My best used to be 500... those days are gone!

I know to start the pred either when my PF drops below 280 or my sympoms get worse (i can stay at 350 for a while before the PF and sympotms match up again. it's a pain and probably why i try to avoid hospitals. they don't beleive i'm not panicking)

When should I seek further help?

And *breathe*

If I've just spent an hour getting the kids calmed down and ready for bed DON'T go and spoil it by picking a fight with the 3yo. Shouting and yelling at her are NOT going to bode well for me getting her to bed easily, or for me being able to read them a bed time story. You wanted kids just as much as me. TAKE SOME DAMNED RESPONSIBILITY FOR THEM AND GET OFF YOUR BACKSIDE INSTEAD OF SLOBBING IN FRONT OF THE TELEVISION!!!! If she wants to parade naked for 3minutes *with* the potty close at hand, let her. she is NEVER going to potty train if you don't let her stay in the altogether. peeing in her nappy is so much easier. Yet if her little sister wants to go potty, and just get up and down from it in the nuddy, thats fine. Do you see the inconsistencies here yet clive?

They're both asleep now. It only took me 30minutes. They didn't get there mama milk though. I had to spend time just talking calmly and wiping tears. thank goodness for the CDplayer and a library of books. Yes, we will be adding to it. You can jsut learn to read as well. or make up storeis to go with teh pictures. they don't know any different yet.

Ugh.

I ended up starting the pred. last night. the amount of ventolin i've been getting through i guess a trip to A&E is probably where i should be headed. i said *should* hopefully we can get some answers on thursday when i see the GP. i've sure had enough of this ride.

less than 100 days

can't wait for all public places to go non-smoking. i had a hard time at bowling this morning cause of the smoke. the centre staff can't wait eitehr. funny how the people that think it's a bad move are the smokers, huh? clive rekcons he's going to give up over easter. i've heard it so many times that i don't beleive him any more. his motivation this time? "cancer sticks" are going up 11p a pack. bever mind the health benefits for the whole family or the fact that he smells and tastes like an ashtray at the moment.

Heh. You wouldn't beleive

that weds and thurs sian was sick enough tath she didn't even want mama milk. today she's been on top form, argueing iwht me, screaming and shouting. and resisting bed! however, 8pm came and she finished playing with the toys (or rathr trhowing tem out of hte bedroom) and put her self into bed and tucked herself in. *sob* my baby is growing up!

yesterday she pulled a hieght chart off the wall at stay and play. then proceeded to fall asleep on it right in the middle of the room! i have a picture i will share when i can get to a scanner.

Me and my monster (aka asthma)

i really have ahd enough of this now. sian *hates* seeing me get nebbed :o( Janet switchet roudn my meds and added one. (now its symbicort, qvar and singulair) if my PF drops below 280 or the symptoms get worse i'm to start teh pred. and of course ventolin as necesary.

hello from beth

vez beth is a cheeky monkeyzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzaa yu vvvvvvt

What a grumpy guts!

Thats what we said to sian tuesday when she didn't want to do *anything*

Well i found out why wednesday after i took her to the drs. poor baby has a nasty ear infection :o( and a raging high temperature to go with it. no wonder she was a grouch! all she's wanted to do since tuesday night is nurse.

on another note. the cardigan made for her by my surrogate mum finally fits! she loves it and asks to wear it wether it matches her outfit or not LOL and as spring seems to have disappeared again...........! mind you she'll probably outgrow it in about 2mos the way she's going. so THANK YOU Granny Mary :o)

Things that make you go HMMMM

Like the new bedtime hour program on cbeebies at the moment. "In the night garden" http://www.bbc.co.uk/cbeebies/inthenightgarden/ seems to be a mishmash of influences from a variety of well loved childrens TV all set in a garden as a little girls dream.

Watching the first one yesterday we noticed similaritys to
Teletubbies
Magic Roundabout
Trumpton
Weebles

and teh character names in this .... IgglePiggle, MaccaPacca (or as Clive rechristened him tonight, WackyBacky!!!), UpsyDaisy, Tombliboos and Pontipines. Sian and Beth are hooked though.

The nail polish I'm putting on isn't covering the nails too well..... I can't be bothered to start again and go darker though so i'll have to deal. It's years since I painted my nails... or my face LOL and today i've done both.

New clothes, New makeup... need new hair (and a new man LOL)

Happy Mothering Sunday

*moan* i got my mam a card, adn we called and left messages for her on the answer phone. i got HIS mother a card and a gift. i didn't even get a lie in, jsut a sulky husband. *end moan*

on a happier note. i did my annual trampoline competition today (i do one a year, always this one) and this year i came first and the team came third.

Comic Releif

The Early Years workers at Sure Start Hounslow's Family Room this week have had a whole variety of fund raisers going on to raise money for comic releif.

The girls are both a tad red around the eyes from being butterflies. We made "red nose cakes" (bakewell tarts with iced on faces!) for the bake sale. ther was a raffle- I won a rose in a pot- perfect mothers day gift for my MIL! and some chocolates (which i gave to a friend cuz i gave up chocolate for lent)

On Red Nose Day itself I made my nose up all funky with the stickers, sprayed my hair red (took the best part of the hair spray to do that!) and dressed in as much red as possible!

The total takings for the week in teh family room for Comic Releif was....
drum roll...............................................

£183!!!!!

Sian the Baker

Sian has helped GrannyJan bake this week. First she made welsh cakes last Thursday while I was at the Drs (and very tasty they were too, just look!) and then today she made mini pineapple upside down cakes....... supposedly for stay and plays cake sale, but they may end up being eaten!

How I spent my Birthday Money

I should have known when Clive started stressing before I walked out the door that I should stay home today. He knew I needed to leave at 7.30am so at 7.15 he's *still* in bed. 7.30 I made the girls breakfast (yup, thats still in the kitchen awaiting my attention, it can wait)

Met up with my freinds in Harrow at 9am as planned and meandered off to Primark via Boots- Boots was open, Primark wasn't! And I needed a drink- never did drink it LOL

Primark didn't have anything big enough for me, but the other two got some bits. True "primark Moments" occured in there LOL so glad i didn't need socks! (cheap and cheerful and still going strong!) After Primark we went into Wallis... first purchase... £30 trousers down to £15... gotta love it! I can't beleive #1 i liked them and #2 they fit! now i needed to find a top to go with them (one to hide the lumps and bumps!)

Went off for a cuppa next- well a cup of tea, a cappucino and a water LOL so we could decide what to do next and i could get drugged up... not that it helped much i didn't stop wheezeing all damn day.

Next up was a trip to New Look- I have a new favourite shop LOL I've bought stuff from there before and been really pleased. This time though I got the trousers in a 20 not a 22! they're still a tad big roudn teh waist at the back! 2 pairs of jeans (£37), 1 pair of canvas trousers (£10- reduced) and 3 tops (£22 all reduced) The New Look in Harrow is HUGE! We traipsed into the fitting rooms together LOL we had 13 items and I kept 6, not bad! I decided I'd bought enough then (having spent a total of £84)

We meandered accross teh road to the lingerie shop. Lots of cute bras, but nothing in my size (never bloody is!) Then thought about lunch.. I wasn't hungry the others were, trouble with pred. is i'm never hungry at breakfast and lunch time, so we decided to go into debenhams for a nosey. We played around with lots of make up hehe. I let K make me up but had to take it off as it was making me all itchy :o( at least I know not to use Benefit make up in future. I did look pretty though lol

I dug my phone out at this point and found a message from Clive asking if we wanted to meet for lunch. It was 12 already so I said what about tea. He then texted back in a strop saying Bethy had 6 udders (was being a cow) and S ... where should he start. and he'd broken the kitchen drawer. I've only been gone half the damned day! yet *he* can't handle it and is snapping at everything. guess it's time for me to go home then. thanks. N & K are great freinds. I went outside and phoned him. Decied to get him to meet us in Harrow with teh girls

We went back accross to the cafe for lunch. but all forgot to check if it was a non smoking cafe... it wasn't. ugh. i was already wheezing like a steam train. that made it worse as there were people either side of us smoking.

Clive met us in a major strop. Lets say that my day fell apart possibly from the moment I left, but defintly from the "i wnat to kill myself" crap he sent me. To top it off he left Sian in a drenched nappy so I ended up having to buy HER a new pair of trousers as its march not May and i couldnt leave her in just a nappy!

Possibly the best bit of the day as far as the girlies were concerned was going out for tea at Chiquitos... they both had a 3 course meal! Never been done before, it was tonight LOL adn the service there today was super- unlike our wedding anniversary when we never did get served and walked out after 30mins to go to pizza hut!

Thursday, March 08, 2007

ergh!

so, after being threatened with violence by sonia (our health visitor) if i didn't start the pred. on tuesday. she got "a gold medal" from janet for getting me started on it instead of waitng!

so i increased the symbicort monday. added pred. tuesday. keep them going till monday next week and janet will phone me tomorow lunchtime and porbably monday to make sure i'm ok and don't need to go in.

there is no way i'm missing out on my shopping trip with the girls over this though. its my birthday outing (and a chance to get trousers that fit!) and as daddy is having the girlies... we're spending the whole day out!

Tuesday, March 06, 2007

Stop the world... I want to get off!

also known as... i can't bloody breathe again. this sucks. of course by the time i get to see janet on thrusday i'll have 3 days of pred in me, 4 days of increased symbicort and she'll not see jsut how bad it was.

CLIVE stop moaning about how the car needs a service, doesn't do this, doesn't do that, isn't your bus (i know that asshole, that's no excuse for your shitty driving). I've paid for a years worth of servicing/mot/cleaning from lance owen... well what was lance owen. now you jsut have to call and book it. or shall i do that too? they'll come and collect it from here as long as they have 2wks notice and its not a weekend.

Sian has now slept in her bed 4 nights, only falling out once! tonight was funny.. i heard a cry from her room... "mama come get my knickers (disposable nappy as opposed to cloth) i need a wee wee" she did too but she wouldn't let me put the nappy back on, even though it was dry!

Beth is cute, funny, noisy and apparently looks like a Lucie Mabel Attwell baby (whoever?!) don't cross her though. she's vicious if you get in her way or her sisters!

Saturday, March 03, 2007

that was neat

there was a total eclipse of the moon tonight. i decided to freeze and watch it for about 30mins out it the garden. clive and i had fun seeing the different amounts of coverage from diferent points on the garden path!

I love TKMaxx

well, today i do. i just got some reebok pumps for £18! considerably *less* than rrp :o) i never like it when i try clothes on LOL they only ever fit where they touch.

oh me oh my. sian now has a complete big girl bed. lets see if she can go to bed at a reasonable hour every night this week. i think some form of star chart is in order with a reward at the end. she usually responds well to bribery! course we'll see tonight if she needs the bed rail on both sides!

What I did on my birthday

Hee. Well, whatever it was I'd planned to do, it wasn't going to happen LOL. I had a breast feeding peer supporters course to go on. Mind you, I've been doing the peer supporter bit for over a year now!

Luckily for me it was being taken by a freind, and much laughter did ensue. Clive had the girls in the morning and my parents took them for the afternoon. Oh and yes, I passed!

During the course the Sure Start and Health teams suprised me with a little birthday lunch (how embarrasing!) which then meant i had to literally run to get the girls sandwiches before being back in the class room. I was touched to receive a gift voucher (and strict instructios to spend it on ME LOL) from them. I also got a chunk of cheese (!) from my parents - and £25 to go shopping with!, a gorgeous necklace from Nicky which Beth broke while we were out for a meal, and a pampering set from katie.

Last night, Sian's cot bed fell apart. So, the past two nights she's been to bed waaaaaaaay later than her usual 8pm. I'm not a happy bunny as it was gone 10 the second night. She won't be up in time for me to do coffee shop today then. Guess we're taking that back on Saturday as my digicam seems to have disappeared off the face of the earth. At least she hasn't fallen out of the bed yet, right? we were planning on using it again in the future for another child!

i really should have taken

before and after shots of the hedge we trimmed today. by we i mean the girls and i. they both helped me chop about 2" each off the bottom- with a considerable amount of help! and we all mucked in to put the trimmings into the bag for the recycling men next week. i did the rose bush while i was at it. must get me some gardening gloves though. i itched like anything after that. twas a good work out mind!

i think the time may have come to teach sian to bowl without the ramp. she is eyeing up the balls in the shop. once she can throw a ball down the lane by herself we'll consider spending £50 on a ball for her. she can wear house shoes till shes bigger though.

Saturday, February 24, 2007

oops., i forgot the photo!

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

eek has it really been a month

since i last posted? i guess so. the trip to wales was cold, sunny and well. i can see myself with 1 more child. not sure about 2 more and DEFINTLEY not 4 more LOL. Much as I love my neices and nephew, I was glad to relinquish care to their parents and come home.

the girlies have *grown* as you can see from the picture. Sian is fitting into 2-3yr clothes ratheer too well now LOL but if you get her 3-4yrs? yeah they fall off! poor kid. otoh if she owuld stop being stubborn and potty train............! she knows what its for. we even thought we had a break through a couple of weeks ago. we were out and about and twice she asked to use the "too-let" and did so. as well as at breakfast and bed time. she hasn't shown any interest or even used it since then.

bethy is signing well now. her vocabulary consists of the important ones (milk, please, food, thank you) as well as dog, cat, crocodile, rabbit, lion, car, ball. i'm sure i'm missing some. her favourite trick when she wants mama milk though is to pull at my tshirt and point to my midrif saying "dat" she will ask in sign if i make her but it's lost the novelty value now she can almost undress me! please is a must though.

clive is as grouchy as ever. but he was funny the other day. he'd misheard something i said and told me that bras are £12.50 a BOOB! Dangit though, bras are expensive. £25 for two nursing bras from mothercare isn't too bad- £12.50 a boob ;o) but to get a sports bra in my size? £50 IF you can find one. i did find one... in the states. let me link you. i like the blue and pink (in other words i'm sick to death of black and white!!)

http://www.lanebryantcatalog.com/clothing/Intimate-Promise-Sports-bra-with-keyhole-back.aspx?PfId=30556&DeptId=9430&ProductTypeId=1&PurchaseType=0

now i jsut need them to 1) accept paypal and 2) do international shipping!

we've decided to go to the holiday camp with mam and dad for easter. i'm doing all the housework and child/parent care for the week (well 8days) but we will have some fun thrown in there. and mam and dad are planning taking the other 4 grandkids out on a trip to folly farm (http://www.folly-farm.co.uk) and the older 2 to the chocolate factory (http://www.welshchocolatefarm.com/) other than that it'll be time meandering round camp and seeing my sister and BIL and i'm sure at least one trip to Llanelli to hit the internet! I'll never manage 8 days without a net hit LOL

*yawn* msut be coming up bedtime. i can't keep my eyes open much longer. thinki'm getting old or sothing i go to bed tired and get up even more tired. oh, wait, thats having 3 kids to look after.

Super-Dee-Dooper!

I finish with the asthma and then get a throat infection. *moan* if i'd have known when I went to see the dr about the cough Tuesday MORNING that by the evening my throat would be sore...........! so thats another weeks worth of antibiotics then. Swallowing is almost impossible- even fizzy drinks that usually go down with ease hurt. and forget trying to take the symbicort, i did weds and it was NOT a pleasant sound.

My sister called and needs me to go to wales to baby sit while she's at work while her DH comes up here to be with his grandad. 1 of me (sick), 2 kids (with snotty colds *and* taking full advantage), 3 bags, 1 pushchair and a 3 hr train journey............. i better sign off!

Tuesday, January 16, 2007

So.........

Final visit (for this round at least) to the nurse today. PF hit 400 and she was happy with that. Still symtomatic, but not nearly as bad as it was. Finally finished the pred and antibiotics YAY! AND I get to reduce teh Symbicort to 2 BD WOOHOO! Of course, I still have to go and see the GP next week as teh cough is still persisting in spite of all the meds. And get my bee-hind back there sooner than that if it all goes pear shaped. Oh, also if the cough gets worse before my appt next week then I must go to open surgery and see someone.

I had lost 18lbs.... I gained 3 back *sob* I will lose them again, and more before my birthday! No more pizzas for tea LOL actually, Sian asked for it tonight and I couldn't eb botherd to cook (see, being lazy) so we ordered in.

CLIVE put the kids to bed. and i worked very hard at ignoring him shout at the girls when they wouldn't go to sleep (he denies it but i could hear him over the TV and at the back of th ehouse.) He did get the m to bed though whoopee!

gonna sign off cuz i'm getting kinda tight and tired now. maybe this will be thre first night in weeks taht i don't' wake up coughing, panting and wondering what hit me?

Saturday, January 13, 2007

*grouch*

in spite of being on my THIRD course of prednisolone in 6weeks, max dose of inhaled steroid, antibiotics and maxing out the ventolin by tea time every otehr day or so......

i still can't catch my breath or stop coughing. i'm sick of this now. i want it to stop please.

Clive is no help. he jstu asked why i was puffing and panting (think it was pay back for me earlier cause he was out of breath climbing the stairs) shows me how much he notices about his wife, huh? he's going to wash up and do the kitchen tonight, i've decided! i'll go and put the washing on for him (aren't i nice!)

18lbs gone.......

Seems every pound I lose, the worse my breathing gets. Shouldn't that be the other way round? I've lost more though so getting closer to that dress...... next? get a bra to go under it!

Another visit to the asthma nurse yesteray. Janet this time. Got the speech I've used so many times with other freinds online (you know, the one where you get told that "asthma can kill you") And told that Clive needs to start helping out more around the house and with the kids.

3 nebs in as many days, a course of antibiotics, another 5 days of pred. *yuck* not sure how I'm losing weight with that! and still no decrease in the symbicort. I want to get down to 2 puffs once a day on the symbicort..... and to hit 420 on the peak flow meter (497 predicted & 500 best so i'm not asking for too muchright now!) oh, and i get to go back to Janet on Tuesday for anotehr follow up. please let me be able to stop some of this madness!

Thursday, January 11, 2007

ramblings........

to go or not to go......

back to class in the morning.

its blwoing a gale. i;m still coughing. and val already told me that i really should consider *not* going .........

on the other hand.

i already missed class a coupel times. it s a breka for all of us (kids are in creche while i'm in calss) and i get to use my brian for an hour or so!

hmmmmmmmm!

Wouldn't it be just our luck...

To get the house i bid on *round the corner* from us? one of my biggest problmes wiht this house is the lack of bath. we managed already. i'm sure we can canrry on manageing! the property has an extra WC.... very useful with potty trianing toddlers, no?

bitter sweet..

sian hasn't nursed in well over a week. i didn't realise how hard it was till i was talking to a MW/LC freind on weds. and almost started crying.

Tuesday, January 09, 2007

no more pred!

had a follow up today with Val. that went over like a ton of bricks.

back to back nebuliser treaatments *defintley* helped. i stopped being pale and started being pink again. she gave me the option of whether to do it tonight or tomrow iif i felt i still needed it. i opted for tonight. poor sian did NOT cope well with that. didn't help the PF tough.

no more pred (yay!) although i do have it on hand now in case of need. i got a weeks worth of antibiotics instead, cause even though my chest is clear *now* my tempreture was raised and i'm either finishing up or starting a chest infection. hopefully finishing and the abx. will just quicken the process!

i feel so bad, cause i ended up being an hour for a 15min appointmetn. and the dr kept having to come into me between patients. if i'd have felt better i'd blush...... oh wait, if id felt better i wouldn't have been there for an hour!

Friday, January 05, 2007

Ergh. Next time I wont 2nd guess

myself.

Woke at 3am coughing fit to bust. Lovely. Spent some time chatting (thank GOODNESS for the internet!) then Beth decides that 4.30am is a good time to be awake for the day. I was watching TV by 5.30am still coughing.

Dropped some clothes off at the hospital for SCBU.... Not wanting to need preemie clothes again LOL and they're always desperate. Then walked to the drs surgery.

By the time 9.30am and I'd drugged myself up came, I was fine again. No coughing, wheezeing, breathlessness. I asked if Janet had any appts. for today, but she was fully booked and the waiting time for the dr was about an hour- with 2 kids in tow? I have an appt. tuesday. Im feeling fine, let someone who *needs* it have the space.

SO, 2.30pm gets here..... yeah same ol' same ol' once again I'm tight, sob & coughing my guts up.
The kids have doen everything possible to annoy me it feels like, andi'm ready for a good cry.

Thursday, January 04, 2007

Beth.....

can wriggle out of a pair of shoes in 0 seconds flat!

She needed some new ones as hers were getting to small. So, as she had the velcro figured and the shoe off within 2mins of getting them first time I thought buckles might be the way to go. How wrong I was!!! I think it took her 20mins to get the shoe off. Not sure what to try next......... taping tehm on?!

Ah, but we *did* get the "highchair booster" taht we've wanted since the girls started arguing over who's sitting in each chair. Now they both sit quite happily in identical chairs. Of course, the new one is non-returnable, at my own risk and with no manual! Oh, and discontinued. I had to ask *reeeeeeeeally* nicely to get it.

Wednesday, January 03, 2007

Sian @ 3years....

first, i weighed her yesterday. she's 12.6kgs (26lbs) now and has jumped up a centile line in weight! thats a 1.6kg gain in 6mos. all that eating is paying off- she had 3 bowls of pasta monday night!

onto nursing... i wasn't going to nurse past 1yr....2yrs.... 3yrs
G: big 3yos don't have mama milk
S: i not 3, i sian
G: you are my sian, my big 3yo sian
S: sian's do have mama milk
S: i not 3, i one, bethy's 3!
yeah, i've given in and let her have mama milk morning and evening. but no longer in public, she's just too big!

we started home school yesterday...... at baby clinic! we slotted all the planned learning into 2hrs in the morning and once again my little shrimp suprised me, this time with the alphabet from A-E! we did some colouring iwth Beth (never too young to color!) pencil skills, color recognition & counting while we walked to town, shapes with the nursery nurse at baby clinic and reading cause we were at the library. oh and some signing as well.

the potty.. nope, she still isn't potty trained, i'm hoping she will one day! she knows what its for and does wee on it when i put her on there if she needs to go after breakfast and before bed. i don't want to trash the carpet with accidents here though because we'd have to replace it and it's only temporary housing.
she was standing with a look of extreme concentration on her face
G: do you need a wee-wee?
S: no
G: do you need to sit on the potty?
S: no
G: are you doing a poopy?
S: silence...... looks releived
G: do you need a clean nappy?
S: not quite....... *sigh* change my nappy!

I think I'm going to bite the bullet on the potty training tomorow. I know she can go at least a couple of hours in knickers cause i've put her in them before to see if she notices when she wees. Wish me luck!

Clives being an ass as usual added to which, he's working 8-8 all week and the girls aren't seeing him at all till Sunday now. Sian's been going to bed good as gold at 7.30 for the past two nights. give it another week or so and if it carries on i'll take the sides off her cot for her.............!

Tuesday, January 02, 2007

*sigh*

wnt for a follow up with the nurse after my last disastrous asthma check. lets just say it was only marginally better!

i got greeted by one of the receptionists telling my taht i looked awful- and to make sure i *told* her if my breathing got worse. then the nurse told me that i sounded very asthmatic today!

i'd only met val breifly before now when she was shadowing janet before she started working there. gotta say, both those ladies are lovely. val's also asthmatic so she knows where i'm coming from, and janets speciality is asthma. i so don't want to change GPs!

onto the nitty gritty.......

my last peak flow was 320 (at a push!) adn today was 370. *but* i also know that i can drop like a stone in water. yeah, taht'd be an indication that a trip to A&E might be in order (i was asked if i'd like one of them too, i politely declined!)

Val made me take my meds in the office, parlty cause i NEEDED them, and aslo so she could check my inhaler techniue (yeah, i got a good mark for *something* forgetting the meds when i went to wales was NOT such a good plan huh)

she asked if i had some pred at home ....... and why didn't i just start it again (i just finished a 5 day burst on xmas eve) specially as i was obviously NOT 100%. So i got another 5days of pred and no decrease in the symbicort. lets see if we can improve things this time. I go back next week.

Happy New Year!

So, another year starts (well, started yesterday LOL) and so yet another year for me to try and remember to update the blog!!

For the first time in a LONG time, very few shops were open in Hounslow yesterday. It didn't stop me finding some new clothes though LOL. I've had more new clothes in the past month than I've bought in the past 2 years! And I don't want to fit them in 6months time!

My haul on New Years day:

  • Strapless evening dress (18) reduced from £30 to £15, I *WILL* fit that by my birthday!
  • Brown (not black or blue!) Jeans with funky belt (22) of course, they only fit where they touch, but they were really nice and I'll wear them
  • Pink (gasp, i hate pink!) hoodie (18) not that long ago I'd have needed a 22 up top! my boobs are still huge but the rolls are going slowly!
  • Mr Men t-shirt (18) this ones a bit tighter, but i didn't try it on. still gonna wear it though!

And during the rest of December i got
  • 2 pairs soft courdroy trousers with dragon embroidery (20) 1 blue, 1 cream
  • 1 fitted shirt that is IMPOSSIBLE to nurse in! (20) no way could i fit that in an 18, the shirt is cut narrow

add to that mam is going to take me shopping for clothes on my birthday and I'd like to be a 16/18 by then, I better get serious with the exercseice and healhty eating LOL ok. the eating part we have down pat. I need to get the skipping rope out again, and back on teh trampoline. I have a sports bra now, and just found my leotard wich will help hold the boobs in!

Operation fit that dress has started!

Another year over (well, almost!)

Just thought I'd do a HAPPY NEW YEAR! post for a change. 2006 saw Beth turn from a baby into a toddler. And Sian turn into a teenage 3yo! I love them both to pieces and wouldn't be with out them, temper tantrums and all!

I wonder what 2007 will have in store for us? Hopefully permanent housing (if we're lucky somwhere with a garden!), a win on the lottery would be nice (heh), but above all? I'll take good health and friends and family to share joys and sadness with, both online and in real life :o)

Vent...........Vent......... Vent

Clive you do NOT need to shout at us all day everyday. I don't care if thats waht your mother did (she still does i know, everytime we go up i have to re-teach sian how to talk quietly) in fact, can you TALK to your kids, not shout at them the minute they open their mouths or just get up from where ver they were sitting.

If you didn't want to take sian to see her cousins for her birthday why didn't you say so when i was booking it? instead of today AFTER the fact. How was I supposed ot know at the *BEGINING* of the month that you were going ot be too tired to drive? or why didn't you say that you only wanted to stay ONE NIGHT. I asked you these questions whn I booked. so don't f*ing complain about it now.

And if you want to go and see YOUR FATHER in PUTNEY then YOU ARE GOING TO HAVTO DRIVE CAUSE I CAN'T!!!!!!! don't come over all "i'm the taxi driver " when you know damned well that either he uses the work car *out of working hours* or we drive or take the bus. I have no problems with the bus, we have two pushchairs.

photos

  • An oddity in the UK... children rear facing after 9mos.... in fact, a child harnessed at 3 is odd!
  • The girls in their christmas PJs...... we always get new PJs on chrsitmas eve. This year Beth chose them.
  • Santa came and left a piano, a big hit with both girls!
  • She does have a lovely smile ;o) ok, i'm a bit biased!
  • Sian has all the attitude of a 13yo LOL i don't even remember why i took the picture!

Happy Birthday Sian Louise!

It seems impossible that 3 years ago you were a tiny little 3lb 13oz shrimpy girl who's head was smaller than Mama's boobage! Now, well you're still tiny, but your attitude and big mouth sure make you heard! I love you to peices my precious one, even when you're being a teenager!

Merry Thingymas!

We tracked Santa last night (http://www.noradsanta.org) and Sian and Daddy left him out a mince pie and drop of whiskey to say thank you - I wonder if Santa ever gets drunk? Or sick of mince pies! Must apologise to the reindeer though, we forgot to get them any carrots :o(

This year, Sian understood the concept of unwrapping presents LOL. She went through her stocking in record time hehe. Beth opened her first one and was quite contented! It reminded me of Sian's first Christmas- bear in mind, this is only her 2nd! I can't beleive she'll be 3 in just 2 days. My littl ebaby is fast becoming a little girl (with a big attitude!)

After we did stockings in Mama and Daddys bed we went downstairs. Santa left the big presents unwrapped this year. Sian got a piano........ HIT! She sang "I am the muskick man" for about an hour! In fact she's bashing away on it as I type. Beth got a peek-a-blocks school bus........... she's more interested in the piano lol. Ah well. Sian liked the bus too- in fact I have a photo of her sitting in it! There other big present this year of course was the trip to CBeebies Live! on Saturday. (Sian still wants to see it again- can we? can we? pleeeease?)

We went over to GrannyJan and Grandads to spend the day from about 11.30am. Christmas is defintaly a time to be with your family if you possibly can. Mum started lunch and I finished it. Found out that both the girls like asparagus! Oh and christmas pudding with clotted cream! I'm rather stuffed wtih good food and good company now.

Sian and Beth got so many new clothes today it was unbeleivable! But i think the jackpot for friends presents must have gone to Uncle Steve- he managed to find the "something special" DVDs cue two giant smiles from the girls. Their CDs to each other probably ran a close second!

CBeebies Live!

The show was FAAAAAAAAAN-Tastic! Sian sat through the whole first hour entranced, joining in at all the right times. Even Beth was fairly still for a toddler! (ok, mama milk helped!)

We saw Justin and Mr Tumble (the girls favourite person), The Tweenies, Postman Pat- and Jess, Pingu, Naughty Noo-Noo, The Koala Brothers, Boo, PC Plum, Spencer and The Bobinogs. When we came out and asked Sian if she enjoyed it? She said no LOL then said she wanted to go again. If only we had the spare money sweetie! Defintley a hit methinks.

From all the over priced souveniers we managed to come home with.......... just the £4 program! Mind you, 4 portions of chips and a tub of maltesers came to £12... we should have gone abck to the car first! SIan was so cold her hadns were blue though and we just wanted to warm her up. (HAH)

The customer service through the whole arena was poor. No-one knew what anyone else was doing. (piss up in brewery? no way!) and the facilities for changing children's nappies was totally inadequate. In fact, we ended up changing Beth on the seats during the interval.

i have a goal!

now onto my goal.... i want to fit into this dress nicely by my birthday. that's 2months away. i'm down just over a stone already, i reckon another 12-14lbs and i'll be happy to wear it to the theatre. oh, with the addition of a strapless bra!!

i did get a new fleecey jacket today... size 18! it's shrot in the sleeves LOL but fits nicely everywhere else, even done up

Beth's first shoes

i know it's a bit late, but here are beth's first real shoes. they're totally trashed now with paint, glue, play dough and sand! we need to get the kids feet measured either tomorow or friday. i'm actually hoping they *haven't* grown as the budget doesn't stretch to new footwear right now! (it will if it has too, but we're going away for a few days after christmas)

we started sian's first christmas the tradition of getting new PJs christmas eve. we still need to get this years, so i think we'll combine the buying of PJs with measuring of feet on friday! a top to go under beth's christmas dress is also a must as it's a short sleeved (although heavy weight) spring/autumn dress. it was so pretty though - and PINK! I chose 2 PINK outfits for my child! I hate pink!!! nah, they're cute. Sian has a black/fushia outfit from grannyjan and grandad and her christmas out fit is a pair of embroidered jeans and a christmas t-shirt she chose herself!

ramble ramble ramble

asthma woes

it's well over three years since i had to have pred. ugh. on the other hand, it'll be good to breathe again! i really am bad about my asthma, yet so ready to sort the kids out. my meds got changed from qvar 2x2 (3x2 when it's bad) to symbicort 2x4 while its bad and 2x2 once it's under control again. oh and i've instrcutions to head to a&e if it gets worse with a follow up on Jan 2 i've been eatng ventolin liek it's going out of fashion htis week or so.

breast feeding props

i've been a peer supporter for breast feeding mothers at our local sure start baby clinic for just over a year now. i asked the health visitor yesterday if the BF rate has increased this year. as the answer was yes, i think i've done my job well! (and i enjoy it too) next year we're hoping to run our own peer supporters course- which i've been told i should ace LOL. i can't wait for that as it's being run by the lady who inspired me to want to go further with this (i'd still like to be a BFCounselor one day, but at least with K's course i won't be answerable to anyone but surestart)

oh and i fell in love wiht a dad yesterday! he wants the best possible start for his kids, and that includes nursing till they're 2. mama is pregnant wtih their 2nd baby (due Jan 13, can't wait to meet them!) and still nursing the oldest. she was worried about nursing two, till she saw me nursing sian in stay and play. sian's near enoguh three now, so she was quite happy that it'd be possible to nurse two. and her hubby will help as much as possible :o)

signing updates

sian learnt some clothing signs this autumn with justin and mr tumble's help. she can now sign and recognise the signs for:

hat (already knew it!), gloves, scarf, dress & trousers

beth added to her one and only sign so far of milk:

dog, lion, crocodile, rabbit

we're getting the something special dvds for christmas/birthday from uncle steve and mama so they'll be used lots next year during our shcool hour.

christmas decorating

sian helped me to decorate grannyjan's tree today. and her and beth are also trying to UNdecorate it. it looks really nice in red and gold, with white lights. but i've had to push a chair in front of it to stop them pulling the decs. off! we also put some tinsel round a light stand in red & gold to match the tree. no pictures as i don't have the digicam with me- i'll get some friday instead.

we have lots of tree ornaments at our house, and no tree to put them on :o( i've also got two personalized ones for the girls ready to order. hopefully we'll be in a place we can get a tree next year.

housing

still in temporary accommodation. it's getting a little small now the girls are growing older- i'd say bigger, but even my fat baby is skinny! nothing suitable has come up since before we went to wales *sigh* maybe we will end up moveing to wales next year? i'll miss a lot of people here if we do that though.

nursery

we're defintley home schooling the girls at least till they're 7. after that we'll see. sian will be starting in january. if i sent her to shcool it wouldn't be till september. she'll probably learn more in 1-2hours a day at home than she will in the 3hrs she'd have at school. no need to worry if she's sick (or any of us for that matter) we already have a couple of feild trips planned- ice skating and a soft play. and we'll be able to take family holidays when clive's off work rather than in the more expensive tradtional holiday period. i'll probably start up a new blog for home edding so that we can see what we've done and what's been acheived each month.

jewellery

we made the descision to let sian's ears close up. she's been ever so good with her earings, but lost 2 diferent ones in the space of 4 days. now i have 2 odd earrings and 2 spare backs! and the 2nd pair of earrngs cost me £15 two days before she lost one. her ear closed up a little in the time she didn't have earrings in and she screamed when we put the new ones in. if she wants them done again thats fine....... when she's a teenager - like 16!

the girls both have chinese new year symbol necklaces and sian also has a birthstone necklace, guess who's chains we can't find? yup. beth has her rooster on at the moment. we have to go back to a little gift shop in tenby (wales) but that will probably be a trip when we go on our main holiday next year.

i can't find any earrings i like to switch mine out for. so i guess i'll have these in forever! actually i saw some in the avon book for £1.50, but they're teardrops and dangle. the girls do like to hit me about the face when they're having temper tantrums! we'll see. i might get them then again.............

off! owf!

oof! ee! oof! there a bit bumpy.

what do you think sian was taling about? She's 3 (well almost!) so keep it clean!

cobble stones! she decided she wanted to walk over them intsetd of on grass or tarmac this morning LOL. typing just doesn't do her actual voice any justice cause it was SO funny.

She also didn't want a cheese burger cause *she* was hungry, her *tummy* wanted the cheese burger. silly mama, it's the tummy that rumbles!

beth wehn asked if she's going to behave...."neh" said with a defintie no shake of the head. do you want mama milk? "yeh" with a yes nod.

she also said she was cheeky, didn't learn it from her big sister it came naturally! the child is as smart as her big sister, and as cheeky and forward too!

some sian funnies

i wish i could catch sian on videos with some of her phrases. here are two of my favourites from yesterday

"oh my gosh, i need my bra"

"i don't want to calm down, you calm UP"

We bathed the girls last night- well clive did while i hung laundry in their room. and while he was bathing beth i nursed sian.

after boo was all nice and clean she was picked up by daddy and pointed in our diercetion going "dat, dat" clive asked what she wanted and she signed milk for us

and I've lost a stone! oh and bought new clothes a size smaller!

I'm a happy bumble bee! And i'm shouting, yes!!!

Photo (late!)

Me and my girls.... We gate crashed mums birthday photo shoot to get htis one of the three of us. I really like it :o) most
unusual as I HATE HATE HATE having my picture taken

Sian and Beth just after Beth's first birthday. Those trousers are now indecent on Sian, and the dress fits Beth!

Just two random pictures. The red coat makes Sian look so grown up now (sob) and the christmas decorations brought out the imp in Beth!

Not a baby any more :o(

My baby is officially a toddler! She started walking with confidence about 2weeks before she turned one. Soooo for her birthday we asked Grandma to buy her her first "real" shoes. She looks so grown up now. The photo of them before trashing (read, painting!) is on my mums pc though, as is her cake photo. So that will have to be waited for! I will however share a picture that was taken recnetly so you can see how much the kidlets have grown
